Heron Hill Weddings
Lauren and Josh chose the beautiful Heron Hill wedding venue for their garden party inspired Lexington Wedding. Heron Hill is located in Lexington, about 30-minutes from downtown Columbia, and has a quaint atmosphere for weddings. The property is brand new and everything is so bright and airy. Heron Hill can accommodate up to 175 guests, but it is also a great choice for smaller wedding parties. Lauren and Josh shared their special day with just under 100 guests and there was plenty of space to create the perfect layout.
Garden Party Inspired Lexington Wedding
Heron Hill provides the perfect blank slate for a Lexington wedding. We created a garden party inspired design for Lauren and Josh using lots of natural green elements in decor. We opted to mix round and King’s wood rectangle tables for the wedding reception while adding different patterned linens. The tables had plenty of space for the simple, yet stunning, white and green florals added as centerpieces. These elements in addition to the cocktail hour in the backyard with tall pine trees and more green linens created the perfect garden party environment.
Many Layout Options
One of the main reasons we love planning weddings at Heron Hill is because of the different layout options they have to offer. From the ceremony, to cocktail hour, to reception, each part of the wedding can be in a different space. Lauren and Josh chose to use the outdoor patio space for their ceremony. We appreciated the indoor reception space as a great backup plan in case of inclement weather. This created a lovely backdrop for photos. They then used the backyard and patio for cocktail hour. Finally, they finished the night in the beautifully decorated reception hall. The bride and groom’s suites are also located close together which makes coordination easier. We also love how hands on and ready to assist the owners are which makes weddings days run seamlessly.
Special Details
Something that made Lauren and Josh’s big day unique was their coffee hour in place of the traditional cocktail hour. Lauren handpicked mugs for each guest and Thirsty Mare catered coffee with plenty of different options. This was a nice pick-me-up for guests before the reception and it was a big hit. Without Becca Zorn Designs’ help we wouldn’t have been able to make this garden party wedding come to life. They hung greenery from each rafter in the reception hall which made for incredible photos and truly wowed everyone.
From the designer – Lauren’s wedding design began with the stunning Nuage Hunter Aviara linen with a deep olive and sage green shade in the pattern. We took these shades of green and incorporated them throughout her wedding design from the stationery and signage to the other linens, coffee mugs, and attire. The 2024 bow theme stayed strong throughout this wedding design, and we loved incorporating Lauren’s love of bows in so many ways, including the beautiful bows draping from the back of the pub tables at cocktail hour. But perhaps our favorite aspect of Lauren’s wedding design was the luxurious greenery draping from the ceiling that brought the gardens of the outdoors into the reception hall. We loved working with Becca Zorn Designs to create this beautiful white and green floral and greenery heaven, and can’t wait bring more amazing designs to life at Heron Hill.
