A July Wedding in Highlands

Caroline and Ryan hosted their wedding at The Farm at Old Edwards in Highlands, North Carolina. In July, the property feels full and settled into the season, with the landscape at its peak. Garden paths wind through dense greenery, water features reflect the surrounding trees, and each part of the grounds feels tucked into the landscape in a natural way.

From above, the layout reveals itself more fully. The buildings, gardens, and walkways are intentionally placed, creating a sense of movement throughout the property. At ground level, that structure feels quieter. Guests move from one space to the next along tree-lined paths and shaded areas, with the landscape shaping the experience from the moment they arrive.

Down The Aisle

The ceremony made full use of the property’s natural depth. White blooms and fresh greenery lined the aisle, creating a garden-like path that connected to the trees just outside. The florals felt layered but not heavy, allowing the setting to remain present.

Natural light filled the room and softened the space as guests took their seats. Florals framed the front, keeping the focus on Caroline and Ryan as the ceremony began.

After the ceremony, guests moved into cocktail hour across the covered porches and open-air spaces overlooking the grounds. Lounge seating and soft draping created places to gather, while florals carried through each area.

Guests moved easily between indoors and out, with the layout allowing the flow of the evening to feel natural from the start.

Between Moments

Into The Evening

Dinner took place inside a space defined by draping and candlelight. Curtains framed the entrance and marked the transition into the room. Overhead greenery and white blooms softened the wood beams and drew the eye upward.

Tables featured textured linens, scalloped china with gold trim, and glassware. Low arrangements of white flowers and greenery sat at the center of each table. Round and long tables filled the room, while warm gold accents added depth against the wood and stone.
