Beautiful Waterfront Venue
The Catawba Falls Events venue boasts an unmatched view of the Fishing Creek Reservoir along the Catawba River. This was the biggest selling feature for Erin and Zachary when choosing the venue for their special day. The couples relationship has revolved around the Carolina coasts from their first date at the river to Zachary proposing. Therefore, it was clear a water element was necessary for their wedding day. This location is also 45-minutes outside of Charlotte, making it the perfect venue for couples who want to get out of the busy city, while still catering to guests traveling for the wedding.
Weddings at Catawba Falls Events
Catawba Falls Events aim to make weddings as easy as possible for you. Owners, Sherry and David, are ready to help and care deeply for their clients. They are able to transport guests around the venue with a designated golf cart for anyone who needs functional assistance. There are many great spots for photos at Catawba Falls including the waterside access for sunset photos on the dock. The venue can hold up to 200 guests and the space is very versatile. For Erin and Zachary’s wedding, they chose to have the cocktail hour and dance floor outside under a beautifully decorated covered tent and the seated reception in the indoor space. We chose soft seating to accent the custom seating chart as a way to invite guests to the reception and create a seamless transition from cocktail hour to reception.
Special Moments
One incredibly special aspect of Erin and Zachary’s wedding day was their music. Before the ceremony, a string quartet played classical music for guests as they overlooked the water in the ceremony amphitheater. For the recessional music, the Erin knew she wanted to incorporate a generational wedding tradition. Erin’s father has two close friends who are members of the New York Police Department Bagpipe Band. His friends jumped at the opportunity to play the bagpipes for Erin’s wedding, as they were the same two bagpipers who played at Erin’s parent’s wedding ceremony. This special moment continued into cocktail hour as the bagpipers led guests from the ceremony to the cocktail area space. Finally, the night ended with a special sendoff for Erin and Zachary as the bagpipers guided them into the limo with traditional Scottish tunes.
Stationery and Floral Details
Erin and Zachary prioritized wedding stationery and florals to reflect their families and values. They incorporated Zachary’s family seal, a bear with a cornucopia, into purple wax seals on handmade invitations. These featured pink and purple elements, offering guests a glimpse of the understated elegance, French country themes, and Southern family values of their wedding day. For florals, they aimed to bring their love of the outdoors inside. Becca Zorn Designs created a custom floral runner that adorned every table and framed place settings. The sweetheart table featured a striking asymmetrical floral installation extending from the ground to the fireplace mantle. Florals cascaded from the grand piano, enhancing the garden-inspired atmosphere. Mini floral meadows adorned the base of bar signs and complemented the table numbers, seamlessly tying together the event’s elegant and nature-inspired design.
