Stunning Spring Wavering Place Wedding
Carly and Matthew’s stunning Spring Wavering Place wedding perfectly encapsulated the natural beauty that this venue has to offer. Just 30-minutes from downtown Columbia, this beautiful historic home sits within the quiet countryside of South Carolina. The lush natural greenery and florals made this venue the perfect spot for a warm Spring wedding.
Historic Charm and Natural Beauty
Wavering Place offers a huge oak tree making the picture-perfect backdrop for the ceremony as well as space for a tented wedding with trees and florals surrounded on all sides. The perfect, private first-look spot is hidden among the trees and is a photographers dream for capturing special moments. Carly and Matthew opted to enhance the natural beauty of the property by adding florals and greenery to the trees and reception space. Similarly, they chose colors like sage green and blush pink in the design to further highlight the Spring greenery. The venue was originally built in 1855 and has been maintained over several generations of the Adams family. Presently, it was recently renovated to preserve the property and architectural integrity of the house.
Open Concept Design
The couple loved the blank slate of an open concept for a tented wedding and we love getting to highlight the natural landscape in the design. There are also many hidden gardens and stunning historic elements throughout the property perfect for pictures. Carly and Matthew utilized the open-air pavilion for their wedding which includes restrooms for guests and a sizeable kitchen for caterers. We always enjoy working side by side with the best of Columbia vendors. Some of the vendors that work with Wavering Place include Southern Way Catering and Crisp Event Rentals.
Owner of Hamilton Events, Ashley Skutka shares: “We absolutely loved working with Carly and Matthew from start to finish on their stunning neutral design with pops of Spring colors. We drew inspiration from the natural beauty of Wavering Place utilizing neutral sage and beige foundational colors in linens, tables, and chairs. Furthermore, we brought the organic beauty of the grounds to the Spring floral color palette of pink, purple, blue, and peach. One of our favorite elements of the wedding design was the floral filled cocktail hour and reception bars, but the true showstopper was the floral cake meadow leading guests to the dance floor hanging installation.”
