Endearing Hartley House Wedding

Southern Charm Pairs With Rich History at this Batesburg-Leesville Event Venue

This Harley House wedding was the perfect mixture of history and charm as Brittany + Garrett’s long-awaited day came to life! The beautiful November day brought whimsical autumn florals that accentuated Brittany’s picturesque design. From the elegantly decorated cross at the ceremony to the abundantly draped greenery at the reception, the venue was nothing short of mesmerizing.

Brittany chose this venue because it offered remarkable historic architecture. Hartley House was built as an upcountry farmhouse in c. 1790. Another plus to this property is the southern charm it has to offer. It is conveniently located in Batesburg-Leesville, about 35 miles from downtown Columbia, SC.

Cherished Steps from Vows to Festivities

One of the charms of a Hartley House wedding is the proximity of ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The seamless transition of exchanging vows, toasting to new beginnings, and dancing the night away all take place on the same property just a stroll away from each other. The couple embraced the venue’s proximity by bringing their sweet four-legged companion to join in on their special day!

The Timeless Elements of a Hartley House Wedding

The guestbook brought a modern charm to this timeless celebration. Guests left their heartfelt words for Brittany+ Garrett in a unique way! The couple chose to use a vintage phone which recorded audio messages from guests as their loved ones dialed in to leave sweet words. This brilliant idea will forever be a keepsake that captured the essence of their special day.

The beautiful venue balances elegance and comfort by providing a spacious bridal suite. This offered Brittany and her Bridesmaids a haven as they prepared for the big day. Meanwhile, the groom’s tavern offered Garrett a laid-back, yet refined ambiance for the gentlemen to get ready!

Intimate Details for the Perfect Wedding Day

One of the magical touches to this important day was the live painter who elegantly translated the celebration onto canvas. Guests watched the masterpiece unfold throughout the night as the couple was left with a whimsical keep-sake that they will cherish forever.

A Hartley House wedding is truly unthinkable without the exceptional owners. Their communication, genuine kindness, and personalized approach always makes collaborating with them a pleasure. It was evident in every interaction with them that their goal was to ensure seamless execution of Brittany + Garrett’s dream on wedding day.

Owner of Hamilton Events, Ashley Skutka shares: “Brittany and Garrett came to Caitlyn and I with a huge vision for their wedding day, but had no idea how to bring their vision to life. Brittany wanted a unique, but classic wedding that honed in on the fall season, without overkilling the popular burnt orange and olive trend. We were blessed to work with the incredible Becca Zorn Designs and Crisp Event Rentals. They helped combine a few stunning rental pieces and fall-hued florals for an overall stunning reception design. By far, our favorite part of the day was introducing Brittany and Garrett to their reception. The tears were flowing and we couldn’t have been more in love with how Brittany’s vision went from dream to reality.”
