European Elegance meets Chic Industrial Design in the Heart of Alabama
The stunning union of European elegance and chic industrial design took our breath away at this Iron City Bham wedding. This beautiful May afternoon began with the historic architecture of Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood, AL. It transitioned to the undeniably mesmerizing reception at Iron City Bham in Birmingham, AL. Eclectic blue and sage china alongside whimsical spring florals were enveloped by dramatic hanging wisteria at the head table. Delicate French quarter chairs and pillows tied into textured linens, warm lighting, and statement lounge seating. This wedding was an absolute dream inspired by the French countryside and modern industrialism of the downtown venue of Iron City Bham.

As a planner, we loved working with the team at Iron City Bham because they included all catering and bartending needs for Madison + Ryne. They were particularly accommodating for our massive installations which allowed us to incorporate Madison + Ryne’s French design into their space. On their wedding day, we were able to transform the modern city venue into a floral haven with ceilings dripping with wisteria and brick backdrops filled with warm lighting.

Madison + Ryne masterfully incorporated elements of their love story + charismatic personalities throughout their perfect wedding day. Artfully curated stationery by Abundant Invitations boasted the famous “Magic City” sign of Birmingham alongside elegant calligraphy and a personalized crest. Madison boasted a whimsical gown and one-of-a-kind veil with her elegant up-do, while staying true to her fun-loving self by wearing monogramed blue Chaco’s. Their personalized menu of “Fan Favorites” satisfied each guest’s ultimate southern cravings with sliders, nachos, mini-salads, pimento cheese, brisket, and more. Finally, the town classic Smiley-face cookies from Savage Bakery joined the carefully curated Alabama cookies, dainty petit fours, and elegant cake for an epic dessert table.

They simply wanted to incorporate their love of traveling the world into their Southern roots. They trusted us to intentionally contrast European elegance and Southern hospitality with the bold, chic industrialism of Iron City Bham venue. From the whimsical florals and statement champagne tower, to the late night passed grilled cheese, this wedding will always be one of our favorites.”
